Presenting Our Free Article Directory!
Article Crux, our “free high-quality article directory” has been around for more than a month already, but I’ve been too busy with the site that I forgot to ‘formally launch’ it here on my blog!
Borrowing from the directory’s About page:
Article Crux is a free online article directory where writers can share their knowledge and publishers can obtain free web content. With ArticleCrux.com, authors can easily post their articles and ezine publishers or webmasters can effortlessly search through the collection of knowledge either through our search engine or by browsing through the many categories.
The directory’s elegant design is the work of Ia (read her design anecdotes on her portfolio). Together, we maintain the site, and are planning to open another one in the near future (this time niche-oriented).
Article Directories: A Primer
Article directories have always been popular with internet marketers, writers, and search engine optimizers. The basic reason: free links. Not just any ordinary free links, but free links from sites trusted by search engines (in this case, article directories). And you know what’s next when you’ve got good, free links — free traffic, TrustRank, and PageRank.
Because article directories are full of keyword-rich content, they tend to rank well in search engines such as Google. They receive a steady flow of traffic that only goes up with age; in turn, traffic comes with plenty of income opportunities. That’s why new article directories are popping up everyday.
Why We Put Up Article Crux
You can say that Article Crux is an experiment to see how effective article sites really are when it comes to site monetization. (And of course, let’s be honest here — we want a share of the pie, however small it is!) Along the way, Ia and I don’t just want to become the owners of a run-of-the-mill article site full of typo-ridden articles placed in the wrong categories.
With Article Crux, we’re doing our best to publish only high-quality articles — those with great info and right grammar. Many article site owners use mass approval scripts to save time. How about us? Oh, we just manually approve articles.
Yeah, it’s a pretty taxing process. Each and every one of the 6,000 plus articles in the directory right now has been reviewed (and sometimes edited and placed in the right topic) before approval. All for the sake of being a little bit different from all other article sites. We don’t throw around the “free high-quality article directory” tagline for nothing.
I honestly don’t know if we can keep up the manual approval process for the next months (after all, we do have our day jobs, hehe). If Article Crux proves to be a modest success in terms of traffic and income, then we might hire a “site manager” for it. In the meantime, the two of us will do the dirty work.
An Invitation to Submit Articles
Whether you’re a veteran article marketer or a newbie, we invite you to write and submit your articles to Article Crux. As I’ve mentioned earlier, article submission has a lot of SEO boons going for it. You can read our page on the benefits of an article directory, as well as my own article on the power of article writing.
We also maintain a blog for the directory. From time to time we choose articles we like from the ‘library’ and feature them on the blog. (That’s another free link! Maybe I should say, “Article Crux, the gift that keeps on giving”.)
If you’re not yet into the article writing thang, browse through the existing articles to get a feel for it (articles on article writing will help you out really well). Trust me, you’ll find that article writing is easy and quick.
If you know a lot of stuff about a certain topic or discipline, whether it’s about tech or health or anything in between, then you won’t have trouble composing a 500-word article packed with info in a short time.
That said, please visit our new free article directory, Article Crux!
