UP DCS Blog Network Launched
Want to glean the latest views and news from some of the best CS minds in the Philippines? (Or at the very least, peek into what makes the brains of these guys tick?) Then visit the newly launched UP DCS Blog Network, an aggregator for the blog posts of the students, faculty, and alumni of the University of the Philippines Department of Computer Science.
If you’re involved with the DCS, you can add your blog by filling out the form on the site’s Contact page. You can also read Sir Rommel’s Tara Na, CS Tayo! post. Right now 18 blogs have been listed…50+ would be great in the near future!
Taking from the site’s About page:
At present, three people, namely, Prof. Rommel Feria, Phillip Kimpo Jr., and Sophia Lucero, are responsible for the maintenance of the website. It is hosted by the The UP Parser.
Sir Rom was the one who conjured the idea, while Ia basically did most of the execution, from the Wordpress set-up to the header to the uber-nifty DCS/student org buttons (also read her “backend blatherings“). Because I wasn’t able to do much during the set-up, I’ll just pitch in more effort for the maintenance and adding of more blogs.
As the blog aggregator is hosted on the website of The UP Parser (the publication I edited for two years), you can also access it through the address UPParser.com/DCS.

[...] To give a background, Sir Q is considered to be a founding father of my alma mater, the UPD Department of Computer Science. He was the Chair of two Departments, and later on was the College of Engineering Secretary. To say that he’s a beloved prof would be a gross understatement. [...]
