Two Years of Blogging = 1055 Posts
First off, let me greet the blogosphere a happy New Year! I hope you and your loved ones will have a prosperous and safe 2007.
Last December 29, I officially became a two-year old blogger (quite young, eh?). Due to a fit of madness, I was able to plough through a slew of blogs (my own, group, and professional) and count my entries since December 29, 2004. I arrived at 1055 blog posts, excluding this one.
Of course, blogging is much more than publishing posts. Blogging is about building friendships, bridging gaps across differing opinions (even if it sounds too idealistic), trying to find your own identity (from writing style to personal discipline and everything in between), and showing the world what you can offer, just to name a few.
It just struck my fancy to go around my blogs, old and new, abandoned and loved, and count the posts I’ve made. For what? Well, for no reason at all! (I hope you weren’t expecting something that stirs the gears of the inner mind, hehe.) I needed to take a break from work, and post-counting seemed a worthwhile time-passer.
Without further ado, the places where I blogged the most:
- 650 posts — ten blogs under MMORPG Source, part of my freelance writing (or problogging) portfolio
- 125 posts — Crimson Crux, this blog
- 82 posts — Slip of the Pen, my literary blog, which will very soon be moved to blog.corsarius.net
- 44 posts — The Quizzical Corsarius, a quite nonsensical “quiz blog”
- 35 posts — Basketball Exchange Philippines
All the other entries are spread across 17 blogs, some of which are listed on my blog and web projects page.
So what do 1055 blog posts say about me? Again, virtually nothing, except that I was terribly delinquent with many of my blogs, especially with the primus inter pares, the original, Slip of the Pen. More than a thousand blog entries is quite laughable when spread across 31 blogs.
Funny thing is, I’m about to open two more blogs in the near-future (plus two non-blog sites). I’m crossing my fingers I’ll not be spreading myself too thinly!

That’s mighty prolific of you, Corsarius! But then again, you have the intelligence and youthful vigor to fuel your energy
Happy New Year!

Congratch! Two non-blog sites? Hmmmm. I should count my posts, too, shouldn’t I?

Happy New Year, sir Eric! Thanks. I’m just trying to use my energy to the max before I get to the 30s
Thank you very much, Ia! Two — articles and links, that’s the hint, hehe. Well, you can also wait until your Stellify blog turns one

[...] This transfer comes after Slip of the Pen (and me, as a blogger) turned two years old last December 29. Please update your links to this blog, and feel free to browse through the old posts, which are now categorized (at last!). [...]

Hmmm… I wonder how many entries I have filed since I revived my blogs.

Sir Rom, I’m betting you’ve written a lot more blog posts than me (excluding the freelance MMORPG part). You’re a more regular poster than me, hehe

wow… that many in 2 years? where do you get the fire to post that many? youthful vigor, sabi ni eric. waaa.. more than 600 lang ako for all the blogs, dahil wala na ang youthful vigor??

Tita Bing, 600 is still great!
And of course, I *had* to write 650 posts for my work, which just leaves me with 400 or so “personal” blog entries. I’m actually disappointed that I didn’t get to post more, especially with Slip of the Pen

[...] King’s and Anderson’s books are heavyweights, which means I’ve got to dedicate serious hours to them. (Ah, to hell with problogging and other hobbies. To hell — for the moment. I’ll freeze hell over later anyway, when I make a serious run at writing for publications and contests in the next month or two…a serious run that probably won’t be taken seriously by the serious biggies of Pinoy lit. Finally, Corsarius, finally. Haul your arse out of your scurvy-laced, sinking hull of a ship. The crew has mutinied — you’re alone!) [...]
