Blizzard Art Contest Winners
I count Blizzard Entertainment as one of my favorite game publishers. I’ve spent countless of hours playing the games of their three main franchises — Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft — not to mention poring over hundreds of pages of fan fiction and game manuals.
That is why when Blizzard announced that they were having the 1st Annual Blizzard Art Contest, I was thrilled — not because I wanted to join (me? an artist? mwehehe), but because I couldn’t wait to see the winning works.
Well, the winners have been announced, and I feel as if I’ve just emerged from a feast for the eyes. The artworks — covering Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, and cinematic art — are all damn good. Heck, I thought some of the honorable mentions are even-steven with the grand prize pieces!
(Of all the contest categories, I’m biased for Starcraft, especially the Hydralisk art above and this Battlecruiser graveyard.)

Art? Warcraft? Does not compute.

Well, I admit the game’s in-game art looks less ’serious’ than other games, but that’s the look Blizzard went for when they started the series. And it’s still art!
But I think you’d agree with me when I say the out-of-the-game art is stunning, hehe.

My brother and I (and all my friends) have been grown up on two things; Disney and Blizzard.
